The origins of the hat: traced to the 1840s with the army troops. The army officially adopted the peaked design in 1911.

Also used by: South African Constabulary and the Boy Scouts.

Campaign hats are still worn by U.S. park rangers of the National Park Service and Boy Scouts of America.
